A Roblox invisible name is a display name that appears blank or empty above your avatar in-game and on your profile. Other players see no name tag above your character. Your profile shows no visible display name text.
The InvisiGenz Roblox invisible name tool gives you the Unicode character that works in Roblox’s display name field. Copy it, paste it into your display name settings, and save. Your Roblox name becomes blank across all games, your profile, and any Roblox game lobbies you join.
What Is a Roblox Invisible Name?
A Roblox invisible name uses a Unicode character that produces no visible glyph when rendered. Roblox accepts this character as valid input in the display name field. When saved, the character renders as nothing above your avatar.
Players who encounter you in a game see a blank name tag or no name tag at all above your head. Your avatar still exists and moves normally. Only the name label disappears.
What Is the Difference Between a Roblox Username and a Display Name?
Roblox has two types of names and they work very differently.
Your Roblox username is your permanent account identifier. It starts with the @ symbol. It is used to find your account, send friend requests, and link to your profile. You can only change it by spending Robux, and it cannot be made invisible. Roblox requires usernames to use only letters, numbers, and underscores.
Your Roblox display name is the name shown above your avatar in-game and at the top of your profile page. It is separate from your username. You can change it every seven days for free. Roblox’s display name validation is less strict than the username field, which is why the invisible Unicode character works there and not in the username.
The invisible name trick works only on your display name, not your username.
Does Roblox Allow Invisible Names?
Roblox does not officially support blank display names. Its terms of service require users to have a display name, and its system nominally requires that the display name field contain at least one character.
The invisible Unicode character satisfies the character requirement technically. Roblox’s system registers it as a valid character and saves it. Whether Roblox will continue to allow this through future updates is not guaranteed. Many players have used it for extended periods without issue.
How Do You Get an Invisible Name on Roblox?

Step 1: Copy the Invisible Character
Tap or click the copy button on the InvisiGenz Roblox invisible name tool. The invisible character is saved to your clipboard. The clipboard will appear empty, but the Unicode character is ready to paste.
If you want to generate multiple invisible characters or try different character types, visit the invisible character generator on the InvisiGenz homepage.
Step 2: Go to Roblox Display Name Settings
Open Roblox on your browser or the Roblox app. Go to your account settings. Click or tap on the Account Info section. You will see your display name listed near the top of the page.
Click the pencil icon or the Edit button next to your current display name.
Step 3: Clear Your Display Name and Paste
Delete the existing text in the display name field. Tap and hold or right-click inside the empty field and select Paste. The invisible character will be pasted. The field will appear empty, but the character is present.
On mobile, long-press the field after clearing it. Wait for the Paste option to appear in the tooltip. Tap Paste.
Step 4: Save and Confirm
Click Save or the checkmark button to save the new display name. Roblox may prompt you to confirm the change. After confirming, your display name is saved as a blank invisible character.
Join any Roblox game and your name tag will appear blank or empty above your avatar.
What Is the Best Roblox Invisible Name Character?
The Hangul Filler (U+3164) is the most widely confirmed invisible character for Roblox’s display name field. It comes from the Korean Hangul Unicode block and produces no visible output when rendered in Roblox’s interface.
The Braille Pattern Blank (U+2800) is a reliable alternative when the Hangul Filler is not accepted. It is a Braille character that maps to an empty Braille cell, producing no visible dots or marks.
Both characters are single Unicode code points. You only need one to create a blank display name. Roblox’s minimum character length for display names is one character, so a single invisible character is all that is needed.
If you are unsure which character to try first, the InvisiGenz tool provides the currently recommended character based on testing across multiple Roblox updates.
What Does a Roblox Invisible Name Look Like in Adopt Me?
Adopt Me is one of the most played games on Roblox. It runs on the standard Roblox engine, which means it uses the same display name system as every other Roblox game.
If your display name is blank, it appears blank in Adopt Me as well. Your name tag above your avatar shows nothing. In trading menus and social interactions within Adopt Me, other players see your avatar without any visible name label.
The invisible display name does not affect your gameplay in Adopt Me. You can still trade, adopt pets, and interact with other players normally. The only change is that your name is not visible to others.
How Do You Hide Name Tags in Roblox?
There are two distinct interpretations of “hiding name tags” in Roblox. The first is making your display name invisible, which is covered above. The second is hiding the floating name tags that appear above characters in specific games, which is a developer-side feature.
How Do You Hide Name Tags in Your Own Roblox Game?
If you are a Roblox game developer, you can hide name tags programmatically using Lua scripting in Roblox Studio. The approach involves modifying the Humanoid or the BillboardGui that renders the player’s name above their character.
A basic method is to access the character’s Head object, find the name display element, and set it to not be visible. This can be done through scripts applied to characters as they spawn.
This is different from the display name trick. Developer-controlled name hiding applies to all players in that specific game, regardless of their display name. It is a game configuration decision, not a player trick.
What Is the Roblox FE Hide Name Script?
FE stands for Filtering Enabled. Filtering Enabled is Roblox’s security architecture that prevents client-side scripts from making unauthorized changes to the server. Most modern Roblox games use Filtering Enabled.
An FE hide name script is a client-side or server-side Lua script that hides the player’s name tag within an FE-enabled game environment. These scripts are written in Roblox Studio and are used by game developers to create games where player names are hidden for gameplay or aesthetic reasons.
These scripts are not something a regular player can apply to their own avatar. They are tools for Roblox developers building games with custom name tag behavior.
Can You Make a Roblox Group Name Invisible?
Roblox groups have a name field that is validated similarly to display names. Some users have reported success using the same Hangul Filler character in a group name field.
However, Roblox group name validation is stricter in some regions and account types. If a single invisible character is rejected, pasting multiple invisible characters may work. The bulk invisible character generator lets you generate a specific quantity of invisible characters to copy as one block.
Group name changes in Roblox require the group owner to have the necessary permissions. The invisible group name trick is not guaranteed to work in all cases, as Roblox’s group name validation may differ from the display name validation.
Can You Hide Your Past Names on Roblox?
Roblox keeps a public record of your past display names on your profile page under the “Past Display Names” section. This list shows every display name you have previously used.
You cannot remove past display names from this list. Roblox does not offer a way to clear your name history. However, if you change your display name to an invisible character, your current display name entry in the list will appear blank. Future entries will also appear blank if you continue using invisible characters.
Past usernames cannot be hidden or removed either. Roblox only shows past display names, not past usernames, on the public profile.
Does the Roblox Invisible Display Name Work on All Games?
The display name is set at the account level, not the game level. When you save a blank invisible character as your display name, it applies across all Roblox games you play.
Some individual games may override the default name tag display through custom scripts. A game developer who has coded custom name rendering may not display your display name at all, or may show your username instead. In those games, the invisible display name may not have the expected effect.
In standard Roblox games without custom name tag scripts, the invisible display name works consistently.
Not every platform accepts the same invisible character. For other gaming platforms and apps, the compatible character may differ. The InvisiGenz platform picker tool identifies the correct invisible character for each platform. For Discord servers and gaming communities, use Discord name for the character that works in Discord’s display fields.
